Doch diese im S\u00fcdosten des Landes gelegene Stadt wurde durch ein Erdbeben im Jahr 2003 ersch\u00fcttert. Dabei erlitt der weltweit gr\u00f6\u00dfte Lehmbaukomplex, die Bam-Zitadelle, enormen Schaden. 2004 erkl\u00e4rte die UNESCO die Zitadelle zum Weltkulturerbe um den Wiederaufbau sicherzustellen und zu f\u00f6rdern. Heute steht die Zitadelle einigerma\u00dfen wieder da.<\/p>\n<p>Knapp 116 km von Bam entfernt lieg die Ausgrabungsst\u00e4tte Jiroft.
