Das Klima ist mild und die Bev\u00f6lkerung ist \u00fcberwiegend kurdischst\u00e4mmig. Die Stadt ist sehr alt und war schon in der Antike besiedelt. In der Umgebung der Stadt befinden sich historische Funde, die Zeugnisse dieser Zeit sind. Die kurdische Bev\u00f6lkerung ist sehr traditionsbewusst.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Die Inschrift von Bistun (UNESCO Weltkulturerbe)<\/strong><br \/>\nIn einem Felsmassiv knapp 32km n\u00f6rdlich von Kermanschah ist die Inschrift des ach\u00e4menidischen Gro\u00dfk\u00f6nigs Darius I. zu sehen. Zudem gibt es Abbildungen von Gefangenen, die sich als legitime Nachfolger des Gro\u00dfk\u00f6nigs Kurosch (Cyrus) ausgegeben hatten und die Darius in in den Jahren 520 bis 521 v. Ch. bek\u00e4mpfte.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Die Grotten von Taghe-Bostan<\/strong><br \/>\n5 km nord\u00f6stlich von Kermanschah liegen an einem Felsabhang die Grotten von Taqe Bostan. Der Name Taqe Bostan bedeutet \u201eGartenkuppel\u201c womit ein ausgedehntes Paradies gemeint ist, gespeist durch den gro\u00dfen Quellteich davor wie es in der sassanidischer Zeit \u00fcblich war. Eine der Grotten ist ein majest\u00e4tisches Basrelief, das die Investitur von Artaxerxes II darstellt. Der n\u00e4chste Bogen ist kleiner und zeigt den K\u00f6nig Schahpur II. und seinen Enkelsohn. Die dritte Grotte ist gr\u00f6\u00dfer, auf ihr ist eine ger\u00fcstete Figur mit einer Lanze abgebildet, und eine obere Tafel, die eine k\u00f6nigliche Investitur zeigt. Beide zeigen angeblich den Sassanidenk\u00f6nig Khosrow II. .<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Statur von Herkules<\/strong><br \/>\nIn dem Felsmassiv von Bistun gr\u00fc\u00dft aus einer kleinen Grotte der griechische Held Herkules, liegend auf einem L\u00f6wenfell. Die Grotte geht zur\u00fcck auf das Jahr 153 v.Ch., w\u00e4hrend der Herrschaft der Seleukiden und der Parther. Es ist eine 2,20m gro\u00dfe Plattform.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Der Anahita-Tempel in Kangavar<\/strong><br \/>\nNahe am Dorf Kangavar, 90km \u00f6stlich von Kermanschah, liegt ein Anahita Tempel.
