As annual Arba’een processions are held in the holy city of Karbala so more than two million Iranian have entered Iraq a week before.

Mr. Hossein Sajedi-Nia, the deputy chief of operations for Iran’s police force said the pilgrims have entered Iraq during the past two weeks.

Iran’s Central Arbae’een Committee said, more than three million Iranians have registered for this ceremony on Iran’s SAMAH automation system.

According to reports, more than three million Iranian will join Arba’een pilgrimage this year, topping numbers in previous years.

Thousands of pilgrims who are not Iranian have also entered Iran, they will join the trekking to Karbala.

 The foreign pilgrims such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey come to Karbala, they are all from Iran’s neighboring countries.

More than 40,000 pilgrims had entered the country from Pakistan according to Sistan and Baluchistan provincial police chief Brigadier General Mohammad Qanbari’s speech.

This ceremony is going to attract about 20 million participants every year. The date of Arba’een is on October 19 this year
