The Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Yazd, referring to the development measures of Yazd’s Transportation , said: Yazd, can certainly have a significant position in the tourism industry and a good future.
Mohammad Eslami during his visit to Yazd yesterday, while stating that Yazd is one of the leading provinces in the field of road construction projects, said: Yazd is one of the provinces with development plans for its transportation for it has air, rail, and land routes.
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development, stating that tourism is an industry dependent on the development of transportation routes. Improving Yazd’s transportation System, including air, rail, and roads can certainly have a significant position in the tourism industry.
The development of transport-related infrastructure is one of the measures that Yazd’s transportation system has taken significantly.
The development of rail transport, especially the construction of the Yazd-Eghlid railway, is one of these effective measures; However, Mohammad Ali Talebi, the governor of Yazd, in addition to promising the development of rail transport, has announced the strengthening of Yazd’s transportation system means the aviation should be developed too.
On the other hand, Yazd’s main transportation focus is on its railways. Connecting to the rail transportation network and moving passengers and cargo through the railway fleet is one of the aspirations of every citizen which Yazd delivers.
Yazd Railway General Administration under the supervisory of Yazd’s transportation system is one of these 18 general railway administrations. This general office started its activity in 1971 by connecting to the railway network to exploit iron ore and coal mines to feed the Isfahan Steel Factory.
At present, this general office has 680 km of the mainline. Its center is located in Yazd station and by connecting to 4 general offices (East, Isfahan, Hormozgan, and Kerman) it has a significant share and importance in the rail transportation network covering a large part of Yazd’s transportation system.
