World Tourism Day in Iran and Its Hosts

The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Culture Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts said: the 2021 World Tourism Day in Iran’s celebration will last for a week in five selected provinces.

According to ISNA, this idea was a proposal, and the officials agreed to let the selected provinces host World Tourism Day in Iran.

In October, the 6th Ardabil province will play the host. Kurdistan and Kermanshah provinces jointly in Uramanat region (Uraman) on the 8th of October, Kerman province on the 10th, and Fars province on the 11th.

The Deputy Minister of Tourism explaining the policies and programs for World Tourism Dayin Iran said: The Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism is trying to benefit from events, such as World Tourism Day in Iran, to introduce lesser-known areas. Local authorities and people only pay attention to planning tourism affairs in particular well-known provinces or cities.

In this regard, to define a new tourism route in the northwest of the country, we have selected Ardabil, Kermanshah, and Kurdistan provinces. World Tourism Day in Iran and the programs we have in mind for it will benefit these provinces.

We have also chosen Kerman and Fars provinces in parallel with the definition of new tourism routes. They should continue to be in the spotlight more than before.

The Tourism Organization of the world has chosen this year’s slogan “Tourism as a tool for inclusive growth.” Without a doubt, the selection of five provinces by the Deputy Minister of Tourism in the same framework. This decision meant paying attention to the balanced development and prosperity of tourism in the country. During Tourism Week, in addition to national programs in selected provinces, separate programs and events will be held in other provinces.

The United Nations World Tourism Organization celebrates September 27th as World Tourism since 1980. Every year one of the countries hosts this day.
