Luxury ski holiday ideas for 2023

ski holiday

Skiing through freshly fallen snow has a striking charisma. The finest winter vacations for 2023 are ski trips. Winter sports that everyone should try include skiing and snowboarding. Your perspective will shift once you put on your equipment, even if you’re hesitant to try skiing because you believe you’re not in shape enough.

A private ski instructor will be waiting for you in the luxury boot room, and your skis will be put out in the snow, waxed, and ready for action. This level of treatment is now standard in the world’s most lavish hotels. So, without delay, let’s read to unbolt the top-notch and swanky ski holiday resorts to visit for 2023!

Courchevel, France

Courchevel is the swankiest ski holiday destination to upscale your ski experience. Despite its fame and distinctly posh villages, Courchevel is for serious skiers seeking once-in-a-lifetime snow experiences.

Courchevel has 150 kilometers of Alpine ski terrain that can be reached by 60 lifts and is a part of the Les 3 Vallées region, the largest Alpine ski domain in the world with 600 kilometers of connected ski runs spanning 10 peaks higher than 2,500 meters.

Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy

The Cinque Torri, five craggy peaks high in the Italian Dolomites, offers the upscale town of Cortina D’Ampezzo both a stunning backdrop and exceptional skiing. Following the 1956 Winter Olympics, which occurred here, the world’s most attractive individuals began to flock to Cortina, making it their favored winter destination for many years.

It still features the upscale stores and hip entertainment options you’d anticipate of a sophisticated European ski resort, even though its customer has grown significantly.

Deplar Farm, Olafsfjordur, Iceland

This luxurious ski holiday resort is best for heli-skiing, surpassing all its standards. It is located in a rural valley in Iceland, between mountains and a fjord. Although the renovated sheep farm has a black timber front and a traditional grass roof, the latter is broken up by glass walls that house 12 opulent bedrooms.

A spa with five treatment rooms, heated outdoor and indoor pools, two flotation tanks, hot tubs, and a sauna are located downstairs. Upstairs are a private cinema, game area, and wine cellar. In addition to navigating peak-to-fjord descents, stunning colors, and enormous powder bowls, visitors of Eleven Experience can also enjoy snowcat skiing above the farm, cruising around on snowmobiles, snowshoeing, and cold-water surfing on non-ski days.

Le Pashmina, Val Thorens, France

Are you one of the skiers who love accumulating piste miles? If yes, Le Pashmina, Val Thorens is France’s best and most lavish resort, offering 3 valleys and the world’s largest ski area. In addition, it’s an expensive refuge mirroring the top-notch mountaineering roots of its owners. This exotic resort provides:

Complimentary yoga sessions.

Annual winter camps with zero-cost ski tuition.

Weekly guided ski touring excursions.

Evening talks from notable Alpinists.

Upon visiting this ski resort, you can see it’s beautifully decorated with hand-woven Peruvian rugs and Tibetan prayer wheels.

Vail Mountain Resort, Colorado, USA

In 2023, you shouldn’t miss out on this resort if you want a luxurious stay. Vail, one of the largest ski resorts in the world and the largest in Colorado, has enough terrain to occupy a skier of any ability level. Long, well-kept runs look out over Vail’s opulent hotels, upmarket eateries, and designer boutiques.

The seven back bowls, kept in top shape by the anticipated 350 inches of snowfall annually, are where experts find bumps and glades. As a result, Vail is renowned for its variety in addition to its vastness (with 5,289 acres of skiable terrain served by 31 lifts). Riders will enjoy the three terrain parks, and backcountry skiers will discover powder paradise.

St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria

Serious skiers travel to the Arlberg region of Austria for no-nonsense, challenging terrain, which they may find at St. Anton on the more than a dozen remarkable routes. The challenging 10-kilometer Valluga-St. Anton route has an elevation difference of 1,347 meters, making it the longest.

However, even the red-marked pistes in this resort are far more complicated than those in other Alpine destinations. St. Anton is renowned for its mega-moguls, particularly on Schindler Kar, and for its 200 off-piste possibilities for expert skiers, many of which require a guide.

St. Moritz, Switzerland

Although around 30% of the terrain in St. Moritz is categorized as black, there are a lot of off-piste, some backcountry, and some designated tours. Since it is less well-known for off-piste skiing, it is kept a secret, which means that its backcountry runs are less frequently used and, as a result, are not as closely monitored as the more well-known locations.

St. Moritz has many credentials to set itself apart from the other ski resorts in Switzerland, including the claim that it was the first winter resort in Europe and is still one of its most opulent. However, there is no denying the difficulty of skiing in the area’s surrounding mountains, even though it may be recognized for its glamour and social life.

CampZero, Champoluc, Italy

Everything at CampZero was designed to combine luxury and adventure, from the ice climbing wall that hangs down the exterior of the spectacular glass and larch-clad hotel to its treehouse massage room. The 30-bedroom hotel, located in the remote Ayas Valley five minutes from Champoluc, is committed to fulfilling its vision of being an active luxury resort in Italy.

In addition to the outdoor ice wall, the resort offers a sizable indoor climbing wall (which can also be viewed from the bar while sipping a cocktail), a helipad to take advantage of the excellent local heli-skiing and an on-site mountain guide to customizing Alpine adventures to guests’ individual preferences.

The Omnia, Zermatt, Switzerland

There are several luxurious resorts in the car-free town of Zermatt, which is dotted with cobbled lanes, vintage timber chalets, and the Matterhorn’s triangular silhouette. However, the 30-room Omnia, carved into the slope right across from the Matterhorn, stands out from the luxury pack thanks to its cutting-edge glass and timber exteriors, chic interiors, fine dining restaurant, and impeccable service.

The tiny resort is famed for its gloriously sensual spa enclosed in smoke-mirrored glass and its indoor/outdoor pool lit by blazing oil lamps and with views of the Matterhorn. It is accessed by an underground entrance blasted into the rock and a glass elevator.
