The excavation of the Dastkand began five years ago, and the area of this historical and ancient underground city is approximately 150 hectares.

Given this area, Dastkand Tafresh can be considered the largest underground city in Iran and possibly the largest in the Middle East.

During the excavation of the Dastkand, several pottery pieces, bones, stone mortars, and signs of life have been discovered, and so far, the age of this underground city has been attributed to the Seljuk period.
