Tourist Centers and Their Status in COVID-19 Iran

The Deputy Minister of Tourism said that despite the announcement of the travel ban, the activities of Tourist Centers have not been banned following the decision of the National Corona Headquarters.

No part of the country is in the white corona; According to the Ministry of Health, there are currently 13 cities in red, 214 in orange, and 221 in yellow.

A spokesman for the Corona National Headquarters, to further control the Coronavirus, announced a proposal to ban travel and Tourist Centers during the mid-June holidays.

The head of Naja Police Traffic Information and Control Center also reminded that the entry of non-native cars into cities with red status or the departure of native license plates from cities with red status is has a fine, and in the case of orange cities, the non-native license which enters or those native who leave will be fined as half as the red zones.

However, Wali Teymouri, Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, said: “Considering that since Jan. 2020 tourism centers have been considered a priority with the insistence and follow-up of this ministry, these Tourist Centers can undoubtedly host travelers. Those who travel to different cities of Iran by public transport, regardless of any color.”

He reminded us that the basis for deciding on tourism activities and Tourist Centers in different cities and provinces is the color scheme announced by the National Corona Headquarters. We are not allowed to travel to/from the red and orange cities by private vehicles.

However, in some provinces, including Gilan, it has been reported that local officials are refusing to conduct the tour and the Tourist Centers, so that in recent weeks, most of the tours have been returned to their origins, and some of these tours have been dealt with. The Deputy Minister of Tourism has not yet commented on the obstacles to the tour in some areas.
