Milad Tower
Tehran, in its modern look, has many attractive sites, but Milad Telecommunication Tower, which is the sixth one in the world, is one of the most amazing corners in the capital of Iran. Milad Tower is so famous that it has even caused Tehran to become more well-known recently. Milad Tower is a complex consisting of several entries. The sections are both official, business, and tourist areas that are so popular among the people. Using the facilities of the upper levels is not price-worthy, but the first levels are free to use for the entertainment of the visitors. In its second phase of development, there are still buildings that are being constructed.
The tower itself is the highest building in Tehran, the third in height in the Middle East, and the sixth in the world. The operational uses of the tower are tourist and telecommunication applications. Recently, Milad Tower has turned to be the symbol of Iran’s modern capital. Due to the ease of communication, it was decided to construct a wireless and acceptable telecommunication center twenty-five years ago. It also helps the ease of communication and development of TV and Radio frequencies’ coverage and also meteorology. The construction process has been managed under the supervision of Dr. Hafezi, the great scholar of Tehran’s University Faculty of Art.
Milad Tower is not only a tourist site because of its operational uses of telecommunication facilities but also has many beautiful spots in its surrounding areas. A variety of different styles of restaurants, business centers, reception areas, conference halls, museums, tourist centers, and other various concerns exist there. The second phase of its development includes a big shopping center, hotel towers, office towers, and other amazing projects that will still be expected. Geographically speaking, Milad Tower is located in the North West of Tehran, very accessible to the heart of the highways of the city, either using general transportation or private cars.
Its weight is about 150 thousand tons with 1700 square meter glasses used in its construction. The main parts of the tower are the major body, the cyclical heads, and the very lower base. The first part, that is, the very entrance, includes a big hall and six business levels with foundational levels in its underlying sections. The very ground level is the reception hall for the visitors. All restaurants, cafes, and exhibitions are situated there. In its main body, there are high-speed elevators for the use of visitors. Intelligently, there are terrific control cameras and pollution sensors that are installed in the body of the tower. That is one of the most applicable usages of this tower.
The very top part, which is called the tower head, consists of 12 level building. The first two levels have security and safety usage. The major concepts of the tower get started at level three of the tower head. Entertainment sections, restaurants, and museums are all located here. Levels 8 and 9 are for telecommunication centers. At the very top side of the tower, there is a 120-meter transmitter mast made of steel with an elevator for the technicians. Entirely the tower has 18 levels with a height of 435 meters. The marble tower in China is only 32 meters higher than Milad Tower. Due to its unique form and also its height, it is quite visible from every side of Tehran city. Having 1693 stairs, it has been the target for many sports festivals.
It has its fans nationally. In recent years, there have been new records in this area by Iranian athletes. Describing Milad Tower, we can name attractive sites. The close vision site, which is located on the third level, has a splendid view with an expansion of 880 square meters. The gift museum and the section of manuscripts are the second alluring corners of the tower that is located on the third level. Here, different precious gifts received by different officials of the world are being kept.
The old manuscripts of the Persian culture and literature are stored here as well. There are also geographical globes belonging to the 17th and 20th centuries brought from George Pompidou’s exclusive museum. Happily, the name of the Persian Gulf has been proudly inscribed in all of them. On the fourth level, a coin museum has been situated with 160 various coins in it. They do belong to different historical eras, like that of Sassanid, collected by the individual collections donated to Milad Tower. It is 271 meters high and situated on the fifth level. The life-size of some famous Iranian figures are kept here. They are all made by the great Iranian sculptor, Master Alireza Khaghani, with an unbelievable beauty with silicon. There are many historical, artistic, cultural, and even scientific figures in this collection. Mr. Jalal Al- Ahmad, Samiei, Simin Daneshvar, and master Persian poet Kamal Al- Mulk.
The wide vision site is its other alluring zone that is situated there with 280 meters of the ground floor. This section has a facility that lets the visitors have a splendid view of the city. Safety fences around the area protect the visitors. In the center of the floor, many different artists have exhibited their beautiful works, from paintings, handmade artifacts, and other artistic pieces even to be sold. Milad Tower’s small symbols are also presented here, which is the symbol of modern Tehran. There are other traditional signs of the city as well. Skydome is the last and most gorgeous area of the tower. It is located in the head part of the tower. Its specific architectural style is very wonderful indeed and catches the attention of every visitor.
The external structure is all made of glass, which does reflect the design of the central column very clearly. There are various designs of Persian mythological legends on the columns that bear the valuable ethical themes of peace, justice, love, and heroic challenges. The tower also has a beautiful park for the kids with attractive playgrounds and digital computer games. Milad Tower, in a word, is a mixture of modernity and tradition in one spot.
