New York City-based globetrotters bound for Greece will now have a new direct flight option.

Norse

This summer, Norse Atlantic Airways will begin operating non-stop flights between the Big Apple and Athens.

The budget Norwegian airline will offer five flights per week between the two cities. The flights will be available between May 30 and October 26, 2024, according to reports.

The new direct flights will compete with similar flights offered by American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Airlines. Delta, in particular, has flights between New York and Athens all year long.

There will still be more competition on the route from Emirates, which also offers flights year-round between the two cities.

Athens marks the sixth European city being served by Norse Atlantic. It already serves Berlin, Paris, Rome, London, and Oslo.

Norse also recently announced that it has extended its Oslo to Bangkok service, which will now become year-round. That route first started during the winter of 2023-2024.
