Nasir Khusraw and Zillow

Nasir Khusraw, a traveler and great Persian-speaking philosopher, mentions Zillow 1000 years before, which today is the world handicraft of the Meybods in Yazd province.

“Abu Mo’in Nasir Khusraw Ibn Harith Ghobadiani Balkhi” known as “Nasser Khosrow” is one of the great Persian-speaking poets, philosophers, sages, and travelers who are also one of the preachers of the Ismaili religion.

Nasir Khusraw was born in Ghobadian, Balkh province, and died in Yamgan, Badakhshan province. He was proficient in most of the intellectual and narrative sciences of his time, such as philosophy, arithmetic, medicine, music, astronomy, and theology, and in his poems, he has repeatedly emphasized that he surrounds himself with these sciences.

Nasser Khosrow, along with Hafez and Rudaki, is one of the three poets who removed the entire Qur’an, so in his works, he has used verses from the Qur’an to prove his beliefs.

One of the most prominent cultural figures and one of the most famous sages, poets, and speakers in Persian is Nasir Khusraw Ghobadiani, who was born 1017 years ago.

The travelogue of Nasser Khosrow is a valuable work of this great sage who has traveled through various lands and traversed from Aleppo, Tripoli, Syria, and Palestine to Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Sudan.

The importance of Nasser Khosrow’s travelogue lies in the accuracy of the information he has provided, which is why he is more respected.

One of the points that Nasser Khosrow has paid close attention to is his reference to Zillow and the art of zillobafi, which shows the prosperity of this art industry a thousand years ago, in the central region of Iran.

He writes in his travelogue: “On the ninth of Rabi al-Awal, we left Raqqa and arrived in the city of Tun in the twelfth month … There were four hundred workshops in this city that Zillow-Bafi”
