Walt Disney

The Happiest Place on Earth has reopened its magical doors, for nearly a month after the quarantine lockdown.

Walt Disney theme park in Orlando was reopened this morning with enthusiastic cast members. Even Mickey and Minnie were standing along with Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom with open arms -metaphorically- and welcoming guests back to the park.

However, only the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom were reopened today, other sectors such as EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will re-operate on Wednesday, July 15.

Reopening such a popular park is not all that joyful. Florida has become the epicenter of a new wave of the COVID-19 virus, so it’s probably not the best time. Crowds were given by temperature tests and masks were mandatory. If one didn’t have a face-covering mask, they were asked to go back to their car and get one or procure one in the park. The park’s capacity was also limited and hand sanitizers were on the ground for people in need.

Yet, with all the limits, Disney World’s employees cheered people on as they entered the Magic Kingdom on opening day and their guests were smiling indeed under their face mask. Disney World is the happiest place on Earth.

From the temperature checking to the mandatory masks, to the many cancellations, the coronavirus stands close to everything.

New patients infected with the virus infections are increasing hard in several states such as Florida. There were 11,433 new cases alone on Friday in the state; Florida leads the nation with a seven-day average of more than 63,000 cases.

Some concerned citizens think no amount of precautions will make opening a public space like Disney World during the pandemic a good idea. Some others are more sympathetic and melancholy about it.

They say things like they honestly don’t back up the reopening idea but they and assuming others are all tired of this negative wave around living, doing everything in fear of catching the virus, or it is contagious, and the fact that hope is becoming a hard thing to find right now, but if they think opening the Magical Kingdome helps to bring the hope back and makes the families happy, we will support that.
