Savar Historical Village Will Be a Cultural Heritage

The Director-General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of East Azerbaijan announced the transformation of Savar Historical Village in Bonab east Azerbaijan into a national base of cultural heritage.

Ahmad Hamzehzadeh as talking about how important the historical village of Savar is today mentioned that: considering the historical capabilities and capacities of Savar, with the actions and efforts of the deputy of the cultural heritage of the province, this village becomes a national base of cultural heritage.

He announced the unveiling of the signboard of the national base of this  Historical Village during the cultural heritage week and said: This historical village and tourism in Savar is one of the most important tourist villages in Bonab.

Which always attracts many tourists due to its special and unique architecture. This Historical Village, which dates back to the beginning of Islam, has a two-story structure, as the current brick houses of this village are built on the houses of the old rock cliffs.

Referring to the public relations of East Azerbaijan Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Hamzehzadeh said: “East Azerbaijan is one of the provinces in the country in three areas of cultural heritage, tourism, and handicrafts.”

The villages of this province have rich capacities in these three areas. They have played an important role in the development of tourism in the region, including the historic villages and handicrafts of Kandovan, Savar, and Ashtbin.

In the end, he is trying to turn Savar historical village into a national base, in addition to providing a suitable platform in order to protect these valuable capacities, to provide the ground for further development of cultural tourism in the province.

He then further added that the time of visiting great historical sites is over, not that they do not matter anymore, it’s just the place and time to show a different Iran.
