Sister Cities of Yazd in Its Streets

In the field of developing international relations, promoting and increasing interactions through branding; The issue (Sister Cities) was examined and decided by the Tourism Commission of the City Council to take action with the approach of naming the Street of Nations to attract tourists and promote the city of Yazd.

Seyed Mostafa Fatemi, the director-general of the province’s cultural heritage, said in a public meeting of the Yazd City Council held at noon on Monday that tourism centers in Yazd are performing well, naming the streets of Yazd after its Sister Cities (like Lyon, Venice, and Jakarta) was discussed also.

Since Yazd is Registered as one of Iran’s UNESCO WORLD HERITAGEs, it’s a land to share with the whole world so why not let her Sister Cities bond with Yazd more?

One of the needs of the global city, especially in the field of developing international relations, is to promote and increase interactions through branding.

Officials said that the gatherings of Yazd before Corona were held in the name of other countries like Germany, China, and others. These gatherings were opportunities that were not only effective in raising issues, challenges, and capacities but also strengthened communication.

There were also proposals about naming one of the highways of Yazd as “Nation” and said: “We dedicate any street of this highway to one of Yazd’s Sister Cities. of course, the necessary arrangements for optimal urban development should be allocated to these places.”

“Venus Ameri” a member of the Tourism Commission of Yazd City Council, stating that the boulevard “Yazd” in one of the best parts of Tehran, said: “In return, we have allocated a boulevard to be named Tehran.

In this regard, as Tehran also has Streets named after Countries and cities, we think that it is only natural to name the streets of a global city such as Yazd after its sister cities.
