Anahita Temple in Restoration

The director of the national base of the historical Anahita Temple in Kermanshah said: after 20 years of inactivity in the temple of Anahita, the restoration of the southwest side of this historical temple has begun.

Morteza Gerawand, referring to the beginning of the restoration operation on the southwest side of the wall of the historical temple of the goddess of water, said: “In this part of the temple, we have four rows of the 12-meter-long wall, the restoration of which is on the agenda.”

He specified: The restoration operation of the wall on the south side of the temple has started from the first row stairs with a length of 12 meters and we have placed some of the stones and capitals in place inside these stairs.

The director of the Anahita Temple Base emphasized that this work is done in a completely expert and precise way so that each stone can be placed in its place, and announced: Of course, several stones have also been broken and steps will be taken to fill their gaps. We have set the agenda.

Gerawand added: “Although we will use modern equipment to cut these stones, how they are cut and their expertise is important, in this regard, he has asked a number of retired forces of the temple who were trained in Persepolis many years ago.” We are here to cooperate with them for the Temple Anahita.

He said that the need for Anahita Temple to get out of the current conditions of organizing the site, excavation, and restoration and said: If we want the temple of the goddess of water to be organized one day like Bisotun World Heritage Site and Taq-e Bostan Historical Site, it must be given credit

Anahita Temple was built, but unfortunately over the past 20 years, its archeological and restoration activities have stopped, so it is natural that the temple of the goddess of water is about 2,500 years old.
