The head of Borujerd Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Department announced the end of the restoration of the water reservoir of Mir Mosque in the city.
Hojjatullah Yarmohammadi stated: “After a long period of suspension, another chapter of the restoration of the water reservoir of Mir Mosque has ended in Borujerd.”
He specified: Due to lack of financial resources after two periods of restoration and reconstruction of this valuable historical element, a new chapter of restoration, which includes, the continuation of restoration and renovation of the arch and collapsed roofs of the reservoir, repair, and completion of the roof of this building through a contractor Competent was put in the implementation stage.
The head of Borujerd Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department pointed out: The reservoir of Mir Boroujerd Mosque is the only remaining reservoir of this historical element that belongs to the Qajar period and has been registered in the list of national monuments with the number 2074.
Yarmohammadi added: “The restoration work of historical buildings is a continuous work and based on the priority of endangered buildings, rescue operations and their strengthening will continue.”
He stated: The repair and maintenance of historical buildings is the responsibility of the Cultural Heritage Organization and based on the priority, buildings with an emergency will be improved and reconstructed.
The head of Borujerd Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department stated that the total number of identified historical monuments of the city is 400 and added: so far, 200 historical monuments of this city have been nationally registered.
The CEO of Lorestan Regional Water Company stated that the rainfall of 575 mm, compared to the same period last year, has decreased by 46% and compared to the long-term average of 40%.
Yarmohammadi stated: So far, two spiritual heritages and one natural heritage have been registered in Borujerd. And it has decreased by 49% compared to long-term statistics.
