Shahedieh and the Restoration of its Sassanid Castle

The General Director of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism of Yazd visited Abrand Castle in Shahedieh and was informed about the process of implementing the restoration plan of this castle.

Abrand Castle is one of the historical castles of Shahedieh in Yazd with a historical background belonging to the Sassanid era, which was abandoned after the national registration, but with the efforts of activists and lovers of cultural heritage, the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism it is on the path of restoration.

Shahedieh Municipality, as an institution with cultural heritage in this city, took action to restore this building and allocated a budget for this castle.

Of course, regarding this historical castle, “Ali Asghar Samadiani Yazdi” the deputy of the cultural heritage of Yazd province, had informed ISNA about the county’s municipality’s efforts to implement a plan for this historical castle under the supervision of cultural heritage criteria.

The mayor of Shahedieh, Seyed Ali Mirnejad, had previously told ISNA about this plan; This castle has two special plans for outer space and the inner space, both of which are implemented to preserve and restore this historical monument.

He also clarified about the outer space of the castle: the area around the castle with an area of five hectares under the supervision of a competent consultant is becoming an open age for various cultural and social programs, especially for tourists in this city.

The mayor of this county announces the conversion of the interior of the castle into a sports ground according to the rules of cultural heritage to develop the tourism industry in this historic city.

The implementation of this plan for the historical castle of Shahedieh can be a model for other historical monuments. Using the maximum capacity of these buildings to develop tourism will help to preserve the historical monuments.
