Qatar World Cup and Iran Tourism

The Tourism Working Group of the 2022 World Cup reviewed the capacities, plans, and proposals for attracting tourists to the 2022 Qatar World Cup to Iran.

According to ISNA, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, representatives of the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Kish Free Zone, Aviation Organization, and Trade Development Organization attended the second meeting of the 2022 Qatar World Cup Tourism Working Group.

Leila Ajdari, Director-General of the Foreign Tourism Marketing and Development Office of the Ministry of Heritage, Culture, Tourism, and Handicrafts, said about the purpose of the meeting: “Considering that the Qatar World Cup will be for 28 days from November 20, 1401, Maximum tourists these days.”

Emphasizing the importance of this opportunity, he said: “Due to Iran’s proximity to the country and the number of spectators entering the Persian Gulf in those days, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Handicrafts is determined to seriously use this opportunity to attract the maximum number of tourists attending the Qatar World Cup.”

Ajdari continued: “Pursuing tourist attraction is the second goal pursued by the Ministry of Heritage, Culture, Tourism, and Handicrafts.” We need to start this important work now, and cyberspace can help us the most, and we will provide the desired content to the countries.

She said: the agencies should submit their suggestions and cases to us in writing, and we are also seriously pursuing them. We are determined to convene working group meetings every month and as the event approaches when we get close to the Qatar World Cup.

The Director-General of the Office of Marketing and Development of Foreign Tourism added: “The logistics capacity of each agent alone is not enough to present Iran’s potential and requires a synergy. Forming a joint working group with the Qatar side is the ideal point that good thing will happen if possible.
