World Cities 'First Exhibition of Handicrafts

Mayor of Meybod announced the launch of the first dedicated handicrafts exhibition with the presence of 14 World Cities and villages of the World Handicrafts of Iran on the occasion of World Handicrafts Week at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism.

“Mayor Alireza Naghavi” while announcing this news, stated: The purpose of setting up this exhibition is to increase the number of World Cities and villages around the globe and Iranian handicrafts.

He added: “After the first meeting of mayors and governors handicraft around the globe of World Cities in Meybod, the Assembly of Iranian Handicraft origins and Villages was formed to create a communication network and more synergy between these cities and villages so that we can have good and effective communication in this regard.”

According to the chairman of the World Handicrafts Cities and Villages Association of Iran, the first plan after the formation of this forum is to set up a special handicrafts exhibition with participation around the globe on the subject of handicrafts birthplace and villages in Iran to help to develop Iranian handicrafts.

Citing the public relations of Meybod Municipality, Naghavi announced the unveiling of some significant works during the exhibition and said: considering the importance of handicrafts, during the opening of the exhibition on Saturday, several significant works of handicrafts from Zanjan, Shiraz, and Kurdistan province in the presence of Dr. “Ali Asghar Monsan” Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, artists and teachers of World Cities and villages around the globe will be unveiled.

“Emad Tashkari”, the head of cooperation, labor, and social welfare, in a meeting and conversation with “Abbas Malazinli”, the head of Yazd Municipality Cultural, Social and Sports Organization, in this regard said World Cities sports Olympiads and programs in the field of health and handicrafts can be very useful in holding a united spirit among the residences of these cities.
